Year 10 Hospitality and Catering Students trip to The Kings Church

Over the last two weeks our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering Students have been giving up their free time to not only practice and develop their catering skills but to also provide a service to those less fortunate and good deed to the local community. We travelled down to The Kings Church in Somers Town, Portsmouth and spent the evening preparing, cooking and serving a three course meal. All food used was donated by local supermarkets for free instead of it going to landfill.... Havant Academy students completed an evening takeover with Food Cycle Portsmouth and came up with the menus for each evening. Dishes consisted of vegetable soups, curry, cottage pies, bread and butter pudding and fruit crumbles. All students involved were an absolute credit to the school, they worked incredibly hard and under strict time limits to produce some wonderful food that helped those who were less fortunate
