Links for years 7 and 8 Work

***FAO Parents/Carers of Years 7 and 8***

We hope you are all safe and well. With regards to school work for pupils in years 7 and 8 we have decided to adjust what we are asking them to complete.

We are giving pupils the choice to complete and follow one of two programme's of study:

Option 1) Oak Academy https://www.thenational.academy/

This is the new national online school which has been set up by a team of highly skilled teachers. All work can be completed on any device that has an internet connection (including tablets and phones).

Click on "Online School" and then "Schedule". Then select your child's year group. It will then bring up a weekly overview. Each day has between 4-6 mini lessons to complete. Each should take no more than 20-30 minutes.

Pupils should try to complete as many of these as possible each day. We recommend prioritising English, Maths and Science.

Option 2) BBC Bitesize  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize

BBC Bitesize has been re-organsied to provide daily lessons in different subjects.

Under "Daily Lessons are here" Click on "Start a Lesson". Choose your child's year group. You then have a selection of lessons to complete across the curriculum for the week.

We recommend establishing a timetable with your child and having set 30 minute blocks where pupils complete these online lessons.

There is no need to submit any work to your teachers as all the work can be completed online. It would however be lovely to see a record of the work completed upon our return!
