Another Set of Superb Results for Havant Academy Students

Congratulations to the Class of 2016 who have been highly successful again this year!

Final GCSE Examination results at Havant Academy continue to be positive.  The new progress measure which considers the students’ best 8 subjects shows that Havant Academy students continue to outperform other students nationally by making approximately one grade more progress, which is fabulous news and reassuring for students and their parents.

The vast majority of Y11 students have worked tirelessly for these excellent results and have been rewarded with very pleasing outcomes.  There have been some superb individual successes with a greater number of students than ever before achieving the highest grades of A* and A.  Elizabeth Cameron (16), for instance, has attained 8 x A* - A in a range of academic subjects.  She is now studying A levels at Peter Symonds, starting next month.  Andrew Scott (16) has also achieved 8 x A* - A in subjects such as English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Spanish.

English has always been strong at the academy and now maths is proving equally strong with a really positive set of grades for the students.  Notably our art students have achieved outstanding results with all students achieving higher than a C grade and nearly 40% achieving A* or A. We are also delighted with other subjects that have achieved an exceptional 100% A*-C at GCSE including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Music, Physical Education and Dance.  We are delighted for the students and their families and wish them all success in their next stage of education.  Havant Academy is now the most improved school in the country; placed in the top 100 schools nationally for continued and sustained improvement in GCSE results and compared to similar schools across the country it is placed in 4th position.  Well done all.
