World Book Day 2025
World Book Day 2025 was a huge success thanks to the incredible effort of our students and staff! There were some fantastic costumes and outfits to celebrate the day. We also enjoyed quizzes, a book-themed treasure hunt and extra library activities such word searches, watching book trailers and getting creative by crafting new things from old books.

A group of Year 8 #students are currently undertaking a 6 week programme on #FutureThinking - Metacognition. The sessions are led by representatives @southern_universities_network Students are learning: 🟣 Practical Skills - Teaching students to ask better questions, organize their thinking, and make connections between ideas 🟣 Self-Regulation - Promoting metacognitive strategies, such as reviewing one's own work and generating/testing hypotheses 🟣 Future Planning - Applying these thinking skills to make confident decisions about #GCSEs, further study, and career paths; #universities, #colleges or #apprenticeships Today's session was on questioning skills and students were able to attempt high level question skills on the topic of careers. Year 9 and 10 #students started a new project with the #Criminology today with the help and support if a lecturer from University of Portsmouth The Brilliant Club Our Lecturer was incredibly impressed with the level of questioning and critical thinking skill shown by our students. #InspireGirls An amazing opportunity this morning for our #students to have access to some amazing #women and #professionals who talked about their careers, experience and pathways.
