A group of Year 8 #students are currently undertaking a 6 week programme on #FutureThinking - Metacognition. The sessions are led by representatives @southern_universities_network Students are learning: 🟣 Practical Skills - Teaching students to ask better questions, organize their thinking, and make connections between ideas 🟣 Self-Regulation - Promoting metacognitive strategies, such as reviewing one's own work and generating/testing hypotheses 🟣 Future Planning - Applying these thinking skills to make confident decisions about #GCSEs, further study, and career paths; #universities, #colleges or #apprenticeships Today's session was on questioning skills and students were able to attempt high level question skills on the topic of careers.
