Year 6 Transition Week
We were thrilled to welcome our future Year 7 students for their Transition Week. They have experienced a huge range of taster lessons across the curriculum: English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Spanish, French, Catering, Art, Dance, PE and Music. They have got to know staff and have begun to find their way around the site.
We saw fantastic determination and kindness throughout the WiseUp Team Building day. The students' confidence grew as they tackled challenges from problem-solving puzzles to time-pressured relay tasks.
Throughout the week, students were earning points for their House. Congratulations to Silver House for winning the House Challenge cup.
Finally, our fantastic Student Ambassadors have been very helpful showing our new students around the site and making sure Year 6 had an enjoyable first few days with us.

⚽️ Football’s coming first… just for one morning! 🦁🦁🦁 Following what we hope will be a memorable evening for the nation, Havant Academy will be open as normal on Monday 6th July, with tutor time and lessons beginning as scheduled. However, we recognise that this is a rare sporting occasion that many families may wish to enjoy together. Therefore, any student arriving before the start of Period 2 at 9:55am will not receive a late mark. Students arriving after tutor time should sign in at Reception before making their way to lessons. As always, we remain committed to high standards of attendance and learning, but we also recognise the importance of creating lasting memories and celebrating moments that bring the country together. ❤️🤍 We hope everyone enjoys the match safely, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning, hopefully with plenty to celebrate! 🤞⚽🏆 #TheHavantWay #ThreeLions #ComeOnEngland #HavantAcademy

It’s been a busy final day of transition for Year 6 at Havant Academy! This morning began with an assembly delivered by Mr Hudson about routines for success and where learning fits in with achieving our ambitions💫 Mr Hudson said the student engagement in this assembly was brilliant 🤩 some of the answers Year 6 gave were exceptional. For the rest of the day, students experienced taster lessons across our curriculum. The culmination of the week was the House Challenge assembly. Students have been earning #rewards and points for their House to become the Havant Academy House Challenge Champions for 2026. The winning house was the Silver House 🏆 who all received a recognition of their hard work and the cup from our Headteacher Miss Dillon-Thiselton. Well done to all students from Year 6 this week and we hope they have enjoyed their four days with us, discovering the school, meeting and forming new friendships and trying new subjects. Transition Day 3: Team Building with WiseUp Team Building The day started with a discussion about #aspirations and #careers. Some of our new Year 7s have already thought about #jobs they might like to do in the future. Our new Year 7s smashed 💥 today’s team-building challenges 🙌 From problem‑solving puzzles to time‑pressured relay tasks, students practiced: Resilience Teamwork Leadership We saw fantastic determination, kindness, and ready, respectful and safe behavior throughout the day. 🌟 Transition Day 2 for Year 6 and today has been another positive day 🌟 Today Year 6 students dived into the exciting world of secondary school subjects! From English to French to Maths, Science and Geography — and much more. The students have experienced making their way to different classrooms and meeting #Teachers and staff. Our postponed #WorldCup2026 menu event will take place on Monday 29 June 🤩 Caterlink Jobs Development Chef / Daniel will be on site with the team on Monday to pay #HomagetotheHosts 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇲🇽 by creating three delicious menus of foods from each of the host nations.
